Site work begins on the riverfront at Esplanade

Site preparation is underway on the riverfront at Esplanade. Crews are working across the 15 acre site in the Chateau neighborhood, preparing the former industrial land for Phase 1 construction: about 300 apartments, street level retail and dining, the marina, The Current, and the Ferris wheel.
The land was remediated under Pennsylvania’s Act 2 land recycling program before work began. Phase 1 is expected to open in 2028.
